Don’t try to be perfect – great leaders aren’t too
One of the things you can be sure of is that you are rubbish at certain things and you will always be rubbish at certain things.
If you spend all the time to get better at the things you’re intrinsically rubbish you won’t get on with the job of being a leader.
Great leaders are necessarily unbalanced; they just know they are.
Knowing which weaknesses to disclose is highly honed art.. A leader should reveal only a tangential flaw, or perhaps several of them. Paradoxically this admission will help divert attention from any major flaws.
